Among all the posts on this blog, a handful of them seem to stand out. This post, which culminates a long standing feud I had with my toilet, has also helped several other people come to terms with their defective flusher.

There's also the amazing twenty dollar bill conspiracy! Is it a hoax? Is it for real? I merely present the facts... You, the reader, must decide for yourself.

One of my own personal favorite posts is on The Amazing Hypnotic Writing Wizard! Unfortunately, the PayPal functionality seems to be under performing.

While all of these posts have been fun, I do occasionally delve into deeper, more serious waters. A couple of the weightier subjects I've discussed are Abortion and radical islamism. While I don't regularly respond to most comments on this site, I did want to respond to some issues Sara recently brought up regarding my rantings against radical islamism. BVCAW members and friends will gather on September 20th to demand congressional action to end this disastrous war and to bring our troops home now.

Which is that? Retreat, or Surrender? Or is it both?

Speakers at 5:45 PM will be followed at 6:00 PM by a solemn reading of the names of Americans and Iraqis who have died as a result of the war and the American occupation.

No mention of those that have died at the hands of Islamist radicals. I wonder how many of those "Iraqis who have died as a result of the war" are head-chopping, child murdering terrorists? Can anyone say "Zarqawi"? How about "Uday Hussein"?

The folks at BVCAW have every right to be blithering idiots. Their dangerous message of surrender should, however, be responsibly answered. Anyone interested in countering this noise, please let me know. Here are some of the signs I'd make for such an encounter;

In another cowardly act of dhimmitude, newspapers across the country are not printing a cartoon which might "presumably" "offend" muslims. While there are elements of Berkeley Breathed's "Opus" that tend to offend many people of good christian conscience, there is nothing in the latest which warrants this action.

While Malkin suggests readers view the cartoon at slate.com, I cannot in good conscience recommend readers to that vile site. Instead, I suggest readers interested in seeing what the ruckus is about view it here. It's almost funny.

Last year I posted about the militant atheistic attack against Christianity (as well as the logical inconsistency of their militancy.) At long last, a flaming atheist has decided to respond. Out of Christian charity, I will promote this dialog to a full fledged post rather than leaving it buried in the comments...

The commenter that identifies him/herself as "speaker of the truth" says;

Speaker, it is very difficult for me to refute your argument, because frankly, it is very hard to understand exactly what you are trying to say. See, at this point of human evolutionary development, mankind has supposedly mastered the skill of communicating abstract concepts using written language, thereby achieving mastery over the other primates. Unfortunately, your lack of punctuation, proper spelling, and other norms of higher communication demonstrate de-evolutionary progress on your part, placing your communications skills at slightly higher than that of a lemur. While you may be able to use a keyboard, evolution has not taught you how to reason and relate rationally. Be that as it may, I will attempt to pick apart your statement and derive meaning from it.

Vigil (across from the main entrance to the A&M campus) to protest the execution of Angel Resendiz. All are welcome.

The blood of his victims cries out from the earth.

1. 1986 - Unidentified woman near San Antonio. Authorities describe her as between 18 and 25, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build. Resendiz told authorities she was from Florida.

2. July 19, 1991 - Michael White, 33, found in the yard of a house in San Antonio, had been shot multiple times.

3-4. March 23, 1997 - Wendy Von Huben, 16, a runaway from Woodstock, Ill., was strangled eight hours after her traveling companion, Jesse Howell, 19, was found slain near railroad tracks running through Belleview, Fla.

5. July 1997 - An unidentified man was found beaten to death in a rail yard in Colton, Calif. A pipe was used to kill the man.

6. Aug. 29, 1997 - Christopher Maier, 21, a University of Kentucky student, was killed near the college campus in Lexington, Ky. Maier was killed with a 50-pound rock. His girlfriend, raped and left for dead, survived the attack and testified against Resendiz.

7. Oct. 2, 1998 - Leafie Mason, 87, found in her home in Hughes Springs, 125 miles east of Dallas, beaten to death with her own antique iron.

8. Dec. 11, 1998 - Fannie Whitner Byers, 81, found beaten to death with a hammer or ax at her Carl, Ga., home.

9. Dec. 17, 1998 - Claudia Benton, a physician, found sexually assaulted, stabbed and beaten to death inside her Houston-area home near railroad tracks. It's her killing that gets Resendiz the death penalty.

10-11. May 2, 1999 - The Rev. Norman "Skip" Sirnic, 46, and his wife, Karen Sirnic, 47, found dead inside their home in Weimar. They were beaten with a sledgehammer.

12. June 4, 1999 - Josephine Konvicka, 73, found slain inside her residence in Fayette County. A garden tool is the murder weapon.

13. June 5, 1999 - Noemi Dominguez, 26, a schoolteacher, found beaten to death in her residence in Houston.

14-15. June 15, 1999 - George Morber, 80, and his daughter, Carolyn Frederick, 51, discovered slain at their home in Gorham, Ill.

These are only the victims known to have been killed by him. God only knows if there are others, and what their names may have been.

As I write this, the most searched term on Technorati happens to be related to the S[T]upidest News Item Ever (tm). For the record, David Blaine is all wet.

Oh, hey, Technorati! What's up with those creepy pictures of "big name bloggers" staring back at me from my screen? Whether or not I want to know what blogs these folks read, I think those pictures are a little... bizarre.

For those that don't know, David Blaine is an illusionist, specializing in "street magic." He performs amazing acts of prestidigitation for total strangers he meets on the street. He is a master of his art, though a little creepy sometimes.

When he is not amazing people with his cards tricks and levitation, he does more grandiose stunts, though these hardly qualify as "magic." He once suspended himself over the Thames River in a glass box for 44 days. He also has stood on top of a 100 foot pole for 35 hours, and has been encased in a block of ice for over 60 hours. His most recent act of showmanship involves being suspended in an eight foot water tank.

These bizarre stunts may provide curious entertainment to a bored audience, but this is hardly what one would consider serious news. Consider if you will, this list of serious news items:

• Iran's nuke program
• the growing China threat
• genocide in Darfur
• America's borders undermined
• a drunk Kennedy walks away from a car accident
• a global jihad intent on bringing the caliphate to America
• man submerges self in oversized fish bowl

Rita Cosby and the folks over at MSNBC apparently think the underwater guy is worthy of your attention. So much so, they devoted an entire 8+ minute TV segment to this pressing issue of the day. When it was over, Rita declared "I think it's the most incredible interview I've ever done." Here are the stupidification stats:

You know, I'm not out there trying to oppress any godless atheists, yet you would think I'm part of some global conspiracy to kill all the infidel unbelievers. (Note to atheists: that's the muslim plan of salvation, not the Christian one.)

It's not me personally, but by association that the raving atheists are attacking. I'll not link to them, but there are sites out there where atheists are downright militant in their determination to convince as many people as possible that the claims of the gospel are false and that Jesus is a lie. One site in particular makes much of their childish pranks of hiding anti-christian literature around church playgrounds and such. Each literature drop is cheered as a "successful mission," as though these brave souls trekked deep into the jungle to proclaim the truth to a tribe of murderous cannibals.

The Muslim Student Association of Texas A&M is hosting a lecture titled "Civil Rights: The Struggle Continues." The featured speaker is the islamist Mahdi Bray.

Here's what the MSA says in promoting the lecture;

Black History Month is not simply a time for African-Americans to take pride in and to educate others about their history and achievements. It is also a time for Muslims to educate themselves.

It’s a time to remember the struggle against slavery, oppression and racism, which continues to this day.

Indeed, slavery, oppression and racism do continue to this day. The student members of MSA would do well to learn the truth about such things. Regrettably, I expect the truth will be found lacking in tonight's event.

I don't agree with everything GTL says (he is a liberal, afterall) but I have got to say he nails it here. The global cartoon frenzy illustrates the nature of the threat to western civilization posed by radical islamism. Since western civilization is based on, well, civilization, the west can never submit to the head chopping islamists. One side or the other must be defeated, peaceful coexistence is not realistic. This is not a conflict that can be resolved with feel good speeches about mulitcultural tolerance of divergent religous beliefs.

This whole episode goes to the heart of what the war on terror is all about. Regrettably, while the islamist masses are rioting around the globe, half of our government seems bent on hamstringing our intelligence services in their efforts to prevent an al-qaida operation from succeeding against the US. The democrats in congress are hell-bent on ensuring that the jihadists succeed in their plans against the US for no reason other than their petty greed and vindictiveness. This is shameful, and treasonous.

Think I may post a new "Deep Theological Thought of the Day".

David Espo is either;
A) a leftist shill for the Democratic Party, or
B) a pathological liar, or
C) an incompetent reporter.

Either way, he is severely unqualified to report on Texas political developments. Take this line from his report on the Supreme Court agreeing to hear a case involving redistricting in Texas;

[The Supreme Court is]...agreeing to review controversial redistricting that produced ballot box gains for Republicans but an ethics rebuke and criminal charges for GOP Rep. Tom DeLay.

Did you catch that? The SUPREME COURT is reviewing the very issue that resulted in TOM DELAY'S CRIMINAL CHARGES.

Uhmm, no they are not. The charges against Delay are the result of a political hack pressing charges against him for political purposes. The charges involve conspiracy (dismissed) and "money laundering." These charges are unrelated to the redistricting isssue before the court.

Oooh, but what those ETHICS CHARGES? Well, you have to read through the 833 word article to find in the very last sentence that the rebuke was related to Delay's response to DEMOCRATS trying to POLITICIZE the REDISTRICTING ISSUE by LEAVING THE STATE while the LEGISLATURE WAS IN SESSION.

Throughout the article, the distinct impression is given that EVIL TEXAS REPUBLICANS have tried to POLITICIZE the REDISTRICTING PROCESS. No culpubility is even hinted at with regards to the democrats' shameless and irresponsible deriliction of their duty.
